Housing Choice Voucher Program

Rental Assistance You Can Count On

Take advantage of the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program we offer at MISSISSIPPI REGIONAL HOUSING AUTHORITY VII in McComb, MS. Through our Assisted Housing Department, we are able to offer a housing choice voucher program which allows low-income families and individuals to get the rental assistance they need.

The Tenant-Based Voucher (TBV)

This is a transferable voucher to rent a unit from a private owner or REALTOR® who agrees to participate in the MRHA7 HCV TBV Program. A unit may be an apartment, a duplex, a single-family home or a mobile home. MRHA7 provides direct rental assistance payments each month to an owner or REALTOR® for a TBV family based on the family’s income, the number of members in the family’s household, and the county where the unit is located. MRHA7 also determines the portion of rent that the TBV family must pay each month to the owner or REALTOR®. Also available to the TBV family enrolled in the Family Self-Sufficiency Program is the Homeownership Voucher Option.

Mississippi Regional Housing Authority No. VII is re-opening the Waiting List for its Housing Choice Voucher/Section 8 Program on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Applicants must be 21 years of age.
